New York’s Breeze Mantana, is nothing short of an enigma, plain and simple. From an incredibly young age, Mantana was pushing pen to the paper preparing for the legacy he’s laying down now. Breeze Mantana constantly pays homage to the raw and rugged underground sound, however boxing in the emcee would be a disservice. As every bit of talent Mantana brings from the underground, he also brings a braggadocio that’s on display in every track and on every platform Breeze Mantana runs. With over five years of work under his belt, Breeze has made a name for himself and he’s not finished yet. Breeze Mantana was born in Yonkers, but was raised in MT. Vernon, New York where his artistic journey began at the age of 8. Mantana’s family was passionate about music all around so it was only natural that Breeze would pick up on it as well. “My mom had everything from Michael Jackson & Toni Braxton to Nas’ Illmatic & Dr. Dre’s Chronic,” Breeze recalls. Other family members introduced Breeze to a plethora of music and historical hip-hop landmarks. All of this pushed our hero to start writing, he stayed undercover for awhile but his time came in middle school. “In the 7th grade, I saw some kids in a cypher in the bathroom and I jumped in.” Breeze Mantana says, “That was the 1st time anyone heard me rap.”
The Mount Vernon emcee brings a versatility that’s a rarity these days, there is no lane to force Mantana into, he’ll swerve out of it the minute you hear the next track. That said, Breeze Mantana has a consistency and talent that is unmatched. By 16, Mantana is battling his peers and showcasing his abilities, “I made a name for myself battling around Mount Vernon to where I was getting pulled out of class to battle in the courtyard,” Breeze Mantana says. This led the young prodigy to meeting Spunk Bigga and after learning proper song structure, Mantana signed to Enta Da Dorm Entertainment and started really releasing music and mixtapes at a prolific clip. Those first couple projects in the early 2010s had Breeze pushing close to 10K units by his own hand. After more releases and a couple setbacks Breeze Mantana found himself continuing to release music, not only solidifying his legacy but continuing to build upon it.
Over the course of the last couple years, Breeze Mantana’s work ethic and output have only increased. When you zoom out and look at the bigger picture it’s important to understand the longevity he instills into the culture of music. In 2018, Breeze released his magnum opus, “American Greed/The Sweetest Revenge” a true testament to his perseverance and truly how far he’s come since writing raps as a 3rd grader. 10 tracks deep, the album is complete and speaks on a variety of subjects both close to his heart what his life was like getting to this point. The Mount Vernon artist’s appeal extends well beyond “dope raps” as he has numerous viral music videos and has over 500K listens combined on all platforms. Add this to the amount of Press he’s gotten from places like Boi-1da, Rap Wave, Sway’s Universe and others, Mantana’s popularity is nationwide.
